Bootle raids uncover guns, cocaine and heroin

At the same time a 17-year-old was arrested at the second address in Betula Close on suspicion of criminal damage and possession of a firearm.

They have now all been released on police bail.

Det Chief Supt Tony Doherty, head of the Matrix team, said: “We would not have taken these guns and drugs off the streets if it had not been for help from the public and I would encourage anyone who has any information which could lead to offenders, or firearms being taken off the streets, to come forward.

“This seizure is an example of the robust response we areemploying in relation to gun crime with the aim of making the streets of Merseyside safe and transferring the fear of crime back on to the criminals themselves.”
